Wrapping up our Sunday School Mission Project

This school year, the Sunday School supported the Hearts for Jesus program, which was an opportunity to support the mission field in our own back yard: the Chicago/Rockford Lutheran schools. Collected funds are shared with select schools in high crime/low income neighborhoods that are struggling financially to continue to share the Gospel in their area.

May 19 was our last day to collect the offerings for this school year, so we will be sending in the funds soon. The total gift we will be sharing this year is $600! THANK YOU for helping us support this Lutheran school ministry!

Update on the Youth Group Mission Trip

From June 22-29, 13 servants from Redeemer will be traveling to North Carolina for our mission trip. Once we arrive in North Carolina, we'll be working in a home for neglected children to lead VBS or working construction with Habitat for Humanity. Thank you all for your generous support of our work throughout the year. Please pray for us as we travel, serve, and return home. We've started a blog so you can track us as we travel and serve. Click here to follow our journey.

Last summer, we had a single service during the summer. This allowed us to socialize and get to know people in the congregation that we may not have a chance to connect with during the school year. It was wonderful to have a nice full church during the summer months and fabulous to see so many people staying after the service to enjoy some wonderful fellowship. This summer, we will again have a single service at 9:30 AM. Bible study will take place at 8:30 and fellowship hour will take place immediately following the service. Please make a note of this time change and plan to stay after the services this summer and get to know the people of Redeemer! We will resume our two service schedule after the summer.

To kick off our one-service schedule on June 2, we will also include a hymn-sing as a part of the fellowship hour. Once you’ve enjoyed the refreshments provided, please join us in the church for the singing of your favorite hymns. We will take as many requests as we have time for. If we have an overwhelming amount of requests, we will find another date to have another hymn sing later in the summer. This will be a time to enjoy music together and also get to know our new hymnals. Hope to see you there!

Greetings from the Women's Bible Study group. We continue to meet at 1 pm Tuesdays at the Quinn's home. We started to look at one of the most popular books of the Bible, the Psalms, in mid-March. It's not too late to join us, we always have plenty of room, study guides and fellowship! Contact Kelly Quinn.
